Software quality for home-based childcare for 20 years
The home-based childcare software is developed by connedata GmbH together with experts from youth welfare offices in Lower Saxony, North Rhine-Westphalia, Schleswig-Holstein, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg.
Among long-term users, the catchy name Tagespflegeportal has become the established term for the home-based childcare software.
For 20 years, our software has helped not only safeguard quality in home-based childcare, but continuously improve it — while reducing administrative effort.
Since 2022, the Tagespflegeportal is complemented by the independent Kindertagespflege App. It enables direct communication between childminders, parents and the youth welfare office.

The Tagespflegeportal is connedata’s specialised software for home-based childcare — web-based, hosted on our own servers in Leer and developed together with youth welfare offices in five federal states for 20 years.
Over this time, a comprehensive solution has grown that places quality assurance and administrative relief in home-based childcare on equal footing — from master-data management and statistics to billing and direct communication with childminders and parents through the app.

Free places & occupancy
The Tagespflegeportal shows free places and occupancy for the respective district — and on request also for a different area.
Occupancy in detail
Almost any detailed question about occupancy can be answered via the Tagespflegeportal — provided the data is available. Where data is missing, we work it out together.
An automatic check against the maximum permitted parallel care prevents overbooking.
Data entry & import
The software captures all data in clear input forms, step by step. Missing details can be added at any time; fields relevant for state statistics are checked automatically for completeness.
Existing personal data — provided it is in Excel or CSV format — can be imported into the system with little effort.
Childminding permit
The software issues the childminding permit centrally or on a distributed basis. Data of a prospective childminder can be captured, for example, by a satellite office (family service bureau) and is immediately available at the youth welfare office — no postal exchange.

Placement recommendation
The Tagespflegeportal automatically matches parents’ care requests with suitable childminders — based on each childminder’s profile and actual availability at the start of care.
It is also possible to check in advance whether care with a particular childminder would be possible at a future point in time.
Substitution concept
Substitution arrangements for individual childminders and large daycare groups are recorded directly in the system — available at any time for placement, occupancy planning and billing.
Waiting list
The software maintains a clear waiting list for children not yet placed. When capacities become available, a suitable place can be assigned quickly and easily.
Interfaces to daycare registration systems (e.g. netgo) import online-registered children directly into the system.
Detailed search
The Tagespflegeportal offers an individually configurable search to find suitable childminders for a given child. It can also be used to address specific people or groups by post or email.
Holiday planning
The software manages holiday and sick days in connection with the Kindertagespflege App. Childminders enter their own days and keep track of them at any time.
Blocked and break times
Through the management of blocked periods and break times, the contractually agreed working hours of each childminder are reliably respected — without anyone having to track them manually.
Follow-up reminders
The Tagespflegeportal flags important dates and expiring deadlines — automatic reminders are supplemented by manual follow-ups where needed.
Mailings & newsletters
From the detailed search, the Tagespflegeportal compiles lists of childminders for newsletters or mailings. The look is adapted to in-house letter templates.
Permission concept
The software offers a permission concept configurable down to record level. Different placement offices see and edit only their own records, while superordinate offices can view all data.
User-group structure adaptable to state-specific or municipal conventions. Various organizational forms are pre-configured.
Kindertagespflege App
The app for childminders and parents
Childminders and parents use our independent Kindertagespflege App. It extends the Tagespflegeportal with digital time sheets, secure parental confirmation — either via login or QR code — and direct communication between everyone involved.
In November 2024, connedata presented at the technical conference of the Landesverband Kindertagespflege NRW on “Social media and apps in home-based childcare” — before more than 60 specialist advisory offices.
The app maps digital time sheets: childminders record their hours, parents confirm them either via login or QR code.
If billing is done item by item or care hours need to be kept on file for administrative review, the recorded hours can be retrieved easily through the Tagespflegeportal.
